In a sleepy snow-covered village, a young playful Timmy Benson is being watched by a dark presence from the past.
"I needed to make this movie so I made it dark as hell"

People want to know why I do this, why I create such gross stuff. I like to tell them I have the heart of a small boy... and I keep it in a jar on my desk.

Nick Cremers

I studied at the NFTA (Dutch Film & Television Academy) in Amsterdam as Interactive Media and Visual Effects student.

The last 12 years I worked at Redrumbureau and since februari I am a part time 3D generalist at Mitsi studio and love my field of work. Besides the 4 days I often freelance and love to create personal work.

I made my first shortfilm "I believe in monsters" a few years back and now my first 3D animated shortfilm "WhatKilledTimmyBenson" is completed after nine years of hard work and off to the festivals.

I love movies especially dark ones and I used the medium of animation for WhatKilledTimmyBenson because it gave me the freedom to do it on my own terms.

The sound design and music for this movie is created by long time collaborator Marvey Izijk. Many hours and meetups took place to vibe and get the moody feel in there. It was a great learning experience and even a pain as well sometimes to get to this result. But we made it!

The shortfilm is 14:08 minutes in length.
